As a DONA Certified postpartum doula, I provide emotional and physical support to postpartum families for up until 12 weeks after the birth or adoption of a child. My goal is to nurture and support families so that they feel more confident in their roles as parents. Antepartum support is also available for families in need of extra care during pregnancy.
Before my work as a Doula, I was a classroom Earth and Environmental Science teacher for middle school and high school students. I have my Master of Arts in Secondary Science Education from Columbia University. After moving to Saratoga Springs from Charlottesville, VA in 2004, I began working as an Outreach Educator for The Children’s Museum at Saratoga.
In March of 2007, my husband and I welcomed our first child into the world with the support of a skilled and experienced birth doula. The amazing support of our doula during pregnancy, labor, birth and the immediate postpartum period awakened in me the passion for this work. I want every family to feel as honored and supported as I did during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.
Our second daughter was born at home in September of 2009 into the loving hands of two experienced and skilled midwives. I was very fortunate to have professional postpartum support from not only the midwives but fellow postpartum doula and mentor Amy Breese
